If there truly is a God, can we actually know him

And what does that have to do with living our real lives?

The overwhelming majority of people in the world believe there is a God. And despite our ever-secularizing culture, the majority of Americans are the same way. Many of those believe in the God of Christianity. Maybe you’re among them.

But the question for even the most religious of us still echoes in the back of our minds and the center of our souls: If there truly is a God, can I actually know him? And what does knowing him have to do with living my real life?

I deeply believe the answers are a resounding “Yes!” and “Everything!”

God is real. And he can be known. That - more than any other truth in the entire human experience - is the most remarkable and life-changing.

Isn’t it your hope to not just live life, but to experience real life?

I want to live a life deeply connected to the One through whom we discover the truest, deepest, most authentic life. I want to be truly human. I want to live real life. And I believe God designed me to help you and anyone else who desires the same.

Why do I write books, lead retreats, and teach? To help regular folks like you to hear, know, and experience God so they can live their real lives. And so that I, by helping you, can do the same.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) He did not claim to know the way, know the truth, or know how to have life. He claimed to be it. And he said that we can know him (see John 10 and 15).

Will you join me in learning to understand and respond to those remarkable claims?

Let’s see together just how real he is and how real we can be when we know him, listen to him, and obey him.

I’m a follower of Jesus, a husband, and a father who works as a writer, retreat leader, preacher, and teacher.

I live to help others hear, understand, and experience God so they can live their real lives.

I was born in Texas (the greatest state), lived and was married in California (the most beautiful state), and I now reside with my family in Arkansas (the most underrated state).

“I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

—Jesus, in John 8:12
